Genre Conventions

Grime Genre

In the video of Pass Out, Tinie Tempah is seen as appealing to the grime convention by having the latest fashion styles. The clothes that a grime artist would wear is what is usually seen as the representative of a young boy in mainly London (as this is the area of which Grime was originated from) or even Birmingham that has the latest brand wear, this usually embracing the image of having ‘swagger’, this meaning to have an appealing look to others including all the updated clothes wear and having the likeable personality.
The male audience who watch this video will mostly try and copy tinie tempah in the way that he dresses and his appearance overall.

This video is a typical grime video showing the latest fashion and the many popular artists having girls round them showing that they are popular.
All of the artists are males, this of which attracts the female audience as they may admire what they see. However, this is not said that the video is aimed at only females. The male audience of which may desire to be more like the male artists in this video, will be attracted to this video as they would want to view the characteristics that they could then act upon in their daily lives as they have been influenced by what they do. The age audience may be 15+ as this contains different aspects to the video such as sexual preferences however not into a major way. Also, the lyrics suggest to be aimed at this age as they can understand what they are addressing to the audience. The setting is set in a club, this of which most young and old teenagers choose to do to be entertained in their free time. Therefore, they can relate to this and recommend the video within its grime genre.

Music intro of 'You Wanna What'

We used Final Cut to match the action of a video to the timing of the lyrics. We used markers to separate the different scenes in order to make the music fit with the lip syncing and then dragged the video so when it was played back the miming went with the lyrics. We also had to delete the audio so the video was in time to the actual track rather than the recording that was recorded with the video.
In some parts of the video, the miming was out of time with the lyrics. This is something to be careful of when creating our own music video. Because of this, we used slow motion to prolong her miming on a bit of the song where she'd forgotten to do it.

Brainstorm of ideas for Tinie Tempah - Pass Outttttt

IDEAS:

Filming location: The Gym

During the first part of the song we shall be filming the main singer in the changing room just before he is about to sing, then walking down towards the gym during the intro.
When the first chorus starts, we will use the green room to match the lyrics whilst he has his headphones in. We shall also have everyone else in the group being filmed with their headphones in in front of the green screen as it will show that many people listen to 'Pass Out'.
During the part where Tinie Tempah isn't singing, the other singer shall either be in the green room lip syncing with a black background or in the rain.
When the first verse starts the background will again be changed to fit the lyrics.

During this intro, the sound shall be diegetic as it is coming from his headphones and he is singing along to the song.
